Linda Joan Chambers of Oxford
Linda Joan Chambers, age 41, of Oxford Pa., formerly of Kennett Square and West Grove Pa., died Friday November 11, 2011 at home, surrounded by family and friends, after a heroic year-long battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme. To all who crossed paths with her, Linda brought love, light and laughter; serenity, sunshine and smiles. Born in West Grove, Pa. on July 3, 1970, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Evan Chambers and Sara Gilbert Chambers of Nashua N.H., formerly of Kennett Square and West Grove, Pa. Linda attended Avon Grove Schools through 7th grade, and graduated from Kennett High School in 1988. She earned a B.A. in Radio, Television, Film and a M.A. in Sports Management & Administration, both from Temple University. She was Associate Director of Marketing & Fundraising at the Delaware Nature Society and coached the Springers Gymnastics Team for Avon Grove Recreation Association. Survivors include in addition to her mother, two sisters, Kimberly (James) Montine, of Nashua, N.H. and Cheryl (Stephen) Haley, of New London, Pa.; a nephew, Gregory Montine, of New York, N.Y.; 2 nieces, Abigail Montine of New York, N.Y. and Olivia Montine of Nashua, N.H.; her aunts & uncles, Richard & Mildred Chambers of West Grove, Pa., Joyce Gilbert of Cochranville, Pa., John & Grace Gilbert of Oxford, Pa., Nancy & David Pedrick of Columbia, Pa., Edward & Julia Farber of Oxford, Pa.; her cousins, Russell Gilbert of Cochran-ville, Pa., John Chambers of West Grove, Pa., Jennifer Gilbert of Baltimore, Md, Maggie Mitchell of West Chester, Pa., and Edward Farber of Oxford, Pa., and her kitties, Jinxy & Peter Pan. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia, 201 South 21st Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103 with a reception to immediately follow at the Church. All attending are encouraged to wear something pink and share a favorite story to honor the life of Linda.
